Welcome to Southern!

Start your Saluki journey off right by attending the 2011 Saluki Startup and Week of Welcome activities presented by New Student Programs, Saluki First Year, and the entire Sothern Illinois University Carbondale campus and Carbondale community.


New Student Programs, in conjunction with Saluki First Year, is excited to offer to students Saluki Startup.  Saluki Startup is four fun-filled days solely for new students, with activities planned to help you learn more about what it takes to be a successful college student, to help you meet other students, and to help you meet the faculty, staff, and community who are here to support you throughout your journey at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  After Saluki Startup, Week of Welcome (WOW) for ALL students officially begins!  During WOW, the Southern Illinois University Carbondale campus and Carbondale Community provide multiple activities to welcome students to campus. A detailed schedule of WOW activities will be available soon!
